Crowns / Bridges/ Onlays / Inlays
Crowns are commonly recommended for teeth that are cracked, broken, heavily restored or you have had root canal therapy. A crown completely encircles the tooth and restores its strength and function while adding the benefit of increased comfort and esthetics. There are several different types of crowns including all-porcelain, porcelain fused to metal, and full gold. Patient preferences, dentist recommendation and location of the tooth are all factors to be considered when choosing the type of crown to use. A bridge can be the best option for replacing a missing tooth. This procedure will prevent your remaining teeth from drifting out of line and causing other problems.
A bridge can replace one or more missing teeth and is held firmly in place by healthy teeth on each side of the missing one(s). You cannot remove a bridge as it is cemented firmly in place. In some cases teeth are better restored with fillings made in a laboratory, instead of a routine filling.
Inlays and onlays are extremely strong and have ideal contours and perfect contacts with adjacent teeth and can be colour matched with remaining tooth structure so as to appear extremely natural looking.
